Associate Principal Consultant

Position Objectives:

To enable the Growth Team to achieve their objectives through direct and indirect support activities, and development of systems and processes.

Position Description:

The Associate Principal Consultant is responsible for helping Principal Consultants build and maintain relationships with key clients through understanding problems and creating clearly articulated solutions for, or with, our clients.

This is likely to include supporting Principal Consultants in client meetings, documenting meeting notes, understanding problems and developing solutions using our PISB framework.

In this role, you will be required to liaise across internal teams (including Growth, Product Development and Customer Experience), external panel providers and often clients.

As an Associate Principal Consultant, you will have a desire and passion to develop and extend your career pathway to a Principal Consultant for The Project Lab, with equal focus on learning our approach to improving Tasmanian organisations and enabling our Growth team to operate efficiently. Responsibilities:

  • Support Principal Consultants in relationship building and business development initiatives with new or existing clients.
  • Prepare for client meetings to ensure outcomes are defined and achieved, and document meeting minutes and notes.
  • Document client problems through our PISB framework with the assistance of Principal Consultants.
  • Ensure that all aspects of proposals have an approach supported by evidence that will act as a platform for delivering services required to support our operating and business models. Clearly communicate the progress of sales activities to the Head of Growth and Principal Consultants.
  • Prepare proposals and documentation as allocated by the Growth Team in the specified time frame.
  • Problem-solve for customers in a way that ensures relationships remain positive.
  • Serve as a point of contact between The Project Lab and our prospects or customers.
  • Support the Growth Team to understand changes within the market and access products and services to support the changes.
  • Development and delivery of internal training sessions to the Growth team.
  • Create, continually refine and document effective systems to ensure that processes are efficient, cost-effective, reduce wastage and provide a consistently high client engagement experience.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations, including assessing feedback and improving procedures accordingly to ensure excellent engagement at all times.
  • Promptly escalate any issues or challenges relating to sales activities where client outcomes or The Project Lab's commercial objectives may be at risk.
  • Regularly seek to improve your working knowledge relating to the delivery of sales and services through learning activities such as courses and events.

Skills and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Management or similar (Certification relevant to Service Management).
  • Minimum 3 years in a consulting, sales or project management role with a strong commercial mindset.
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions to customer needs.
  • Experience working with external stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service, function or product provided and influence them to determine acceptable solutions.
  • Accuracy, multi-tasking skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills.
  • Exceptional excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Strong technical IT skills.
