Role: Associate Consultant – Communications &Brand

Position Objectives:

The primary objective of the Associate Consultant – Communications & Brand is to maximise The Project Lab’s capacity to network and communicate its messages and work effectively, both internally and externally to deliver business growth, brand awareness, customer, and team member engagement objectives.

Position Description:

The Associate Consultant – Communications &Brand supports the Head of Customer Experience to implement The Project Lab’s communication strategies through content production and coordination of communications processes. The Associate Consultant – Communications & Brandis the primary person responsible for creating content for and updating The Project Lab’s digital platforms, including the website and social channels. This role is responsible for ensuring key information on our work is readily available, both online and offline. The role works with teams across the organisation, ensuring that The Project Lab’s content is aligned to our strategy and brand and effectively targets The Project Lab’s key audiences.

The Associate Consultant – Communications &Brand will need to have a genuine passion for promoting The Project Lab and supporting the success of the business through its communications both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Customer Experience with the implementation of The Project Lab’s Communication& Brand Strategy
  • Produce digital and offline content that communicates The Project Lab’s work and contributes to achieving the organisation’s strategic objectives in a consistent and systematic way
  • Research, write, edit and proofread copy for social media, blogs, emails, newsletters, the intranet, and the website to engage supporters and inspire them to take actions
  • Create eye-catching visual content including images, videos, gifs and infographics for digital channels
  • Support teams to finalise case studies, project summaries, templates, and other communications for audiences
  • Reinforce The Project Lab brand by applying key messages, style, tone of voice and brand essence to all content
  • Develop content, facilitate, measure and report on the results of communication campaigns, together with trends and developments across channels, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Research and produce thoughtful, creative, and compelling content that is on-brand, consistent in style quality and tone and optimised for the user and search experience for all online and offline channels
  • Maintain the health of The Project Lab’s social media channels by ensuring a consistent social presence that promotes our brand and communications strategy, is aligned with social trends and engages with key moments, news stories and trending topics, and by elevating complaints and reputational risks where necessary
  • Plan and co-ordinate internal and external events, including actively contributing to The Project Lab’s Social Committee  
  • Conduct market research on The Project Lab’s key audiences and investigate a wide range of topics for copywriting development; identifying content opportunities in line with organisational and strategic priorities
  • Provide writing and editing support, advice and assistance to internal teams across the organisation, including the development of written communications

Skills & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field and/or relevant experience in communications and brand including developing and/or implementing strategies
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders across cultures
  • Excellent communication and editing skills to convey to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to produce inspiring and engaging content
  • Accuracy, multi-tasking skills, time management and attention to detail are critical
  • Strong technical IT competency  
  • Experienced in writing for all media platforms
  • Self-motivate and self-disciplined with the ability to work with autonomy, meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
  • Proven social media and networking experience
  • Strategic and creative mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to embrace change with flexibility to work in a dynamic environment
